I picked this little booklet up a few days ago for a couple of quid. Thought I'd share it with you. Some of your relatives may have used these places.
I got all excited there for a minute ... I've been looking for the Alexandra Pavillion for Officers in Grosvenor Gardens ..... but of course I should have known ... you would be RAF K !! :becky: Great booklet though .... :clapping:
Sorry Annie. I just saw this and snapped it up. I'm sure ones for the Army and the RN were produced too and I am on the lookout.
It was at 52 Grosvenor Gardens to be exact. Having googled the address it has been extensively redevloped but if you do the same you maybe able to contact the developers who may have some history. The American Red Cross then took some offices at the same address but I don't know whether they took over from the Club or co-existed. The address was auctioned by the lease holder in mid 1920
Thanks K ... I've been trying to find out about it for a while ... and I did get some information but not enough to post on my Roll ... one of my Chaplains went there when he came home after WW1 ..... so it couldn't have been too rowdy !! :becky: Annie PS Sorry .. I didn't mean to hijack your thread !!
