    David ... I'm not quite sure how you're supposed to do this ! ...... I tried the search for POW camps but I can't get anything .... is it not possible to get them ?

    Annie I am sure you are much more adept at searching things out than I am. If you can't find it I never will!

    If you do find any POW camps I would be most interested.

    David you know I'm a techno duck !! :noidea::noidea:

    Unless things are straight forward ... I'm hopeless ... I think we'd both better wait for the experts to come and spell it out for us !! :becky:

    P.o.w. Camps

    Annie the National Archives hold many photographs of P.O.W. Camps. The Files to look at initially are.

    AIR 40/227 to 229 which are of variable quality. AIR 14/1240 --AIR 23/4699 which contains target photos BURMA/SIAM and include P.O.W. Camps.
    AIR 34/636 contains a photo of Stalag 11D Starguard.

    You could always enquire at Keele University as they hold the largest collection. What you have to do is give them the Lattitude and Longtitude first to assist the search. Not Cheap though.

    P.O.W. Camp photographs

    The most Comprehensive set of photographs showing everyday life in P.O.W. Camp I have seen was at a St.1VB Reunion.

    When the Camp was liberated some of the inmates broke into the Camp Office and took their own Personnel cards from the Files.
    There were a few P.O.W. enterprising enough to collect photographs that had been taken over the years by the Germans. These were converted into slides and shown at the end of the Re-union by the Secretary Louis Parsons, who served with a New Zealand Bomber Squadron.
