Hi Annie, I came across this the other day with Woollahra as the key. http://www.aif.adfa.edu.au:8080/showPerson?pid=84487 The above site is great as it combines information from all the Australian government databases into one. Hi Brian, Not a single bit of difference. The result was just like speaking to a clone. I finally said to the chap "Don't you feel that this would be a really nice tribute to this young man? Response: I have been speaking to a couple of people in Sydney who may go for a wander and see if they can find him where there are other 1917 burials. If Bertram Clyde Duckworth is his brother he may be buried in the Methodist section. http://www.aif.adfa.edu.au:8080/showPerson?pid=84487
My friends sister lives near Waverley cemetery & would love to go photograph that grave for you (if it is to be found). She also tells me it is a beautiful cemetery so she will take some general pics as well ! I gave her the plot numbers I found ... if you have different ones .... make sure you let me know asap !! Annie
Hi Annie, You are a bloody marvel. I missed that post about the CD completely. If your friends sister can take the photo it would be fantastic. Where did you get the CD from? Father seems to be Arthur however cannot confirm that Matilda is his mother however it seems likely. Bertram by residence address would certainly seem to be his brother. Thanks again Annie, Look forward to the photographs. Cheers Geoff
This looks to be moving along through the right channels. Waiting on the Australian government to confirm all details back to the UK. I am getting really excited that this will soon come to fruition. I did hope to try and contact some relations in Sydney however time has been my enemy again.
Hi Annie, I have not received any messages, when did you send them. I just woke up on my chair in front of the computer...........tiring day! What a wonderful result............Thank you for your assistance with this photo. Please pass on my thanks to your friend for taking these wonderful photo's. All seems to be falling into place. All we need now is to have it confirmed that his non commemoration has been addressed and he is to be listed on the CWGC Roll of Honour. Would it be possible to send me the Hi Res photos? Cheers Geoff
