i would love all of those in my library :becky: and the wait for the knock from child services eep: Books that would now be banned: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - encourages obesity The BFG - sizest Danny, the Champion of the World - children should be encouraged to take part and not be competative Any others (and not the obvious ones like enid Blyton please - choosing those is just toooooo easy)?
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - encourages cults The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - children should not be made aware of a whole new world when coming out of the closet...
"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" - I'm amazed Roald Dahl got that title past the publishers; people are a lot less naive now!
Any Lewis Carroll book must encourage drug taking! As a child I loved "The Water Babies" by Charles Kingsley. I really don't remember how my children reacted, but when I read it to my elder grandaughter many years ago I thought it was awful.
