I hope this thread brings some postings. None will be able to usurp this hero from top place ! That said, I am sure you will have heard of many more who can join him. Cheers Keith
Great post. I always love a good true story like that. That guy was tuff as nails. I thought how am I going to read this and I had to click on it three times to read it. A little read but a great story.:couch2::Cool2:
Bravery Hi W.H. I remember, when I was much younger, tales of an American Hero of WWII, later to try his hand in the movies. Audie Murphie, ring a bell. I'm sure you can dig up some details, he sounded quite a character. I never found out many details. Cheers Keith
There has been talk of a film about Upham for quite a while, but there seems to be so many issues, especially finances: http://ww2chat.com/forums/books-films/2834-upham-film.html
And some of the most decorated servicemen of the war were mentioned in a couple posts before: http://ww2chat.com/forums/war-sea/91-most-decorated-naval-personnel.html http://ww2chat.com/forums/war-air/40-most-decorated-airmen-allied-air-forces.html Unless I am mistaken, we neglected to create a corresponding list for army personnel. We should use this thread for that.
