Our local news carried this story tonight:- BBC NEWS | England | Cambridgeshire | Town helps Aussie victims of fire Hope that you get your rain although that sunset doesn't look as though that is very likely. Thinking of you all down there. Is Andy okay? He's not been around this week.
Thanks for that Nana. Interesting about Whittlesey. Spoke to Andy just an hour ago. He is busy preparing for a job interview and like me at the moment, time is a precious commodity. Cheers Geoff
Bushfires To all our friends in Australia, Hope the torment has ended. Just finished watching your Memorial Service, felt as one with you all. Your emergency services have done more than you could wish for. My best wishes to them for a job much more than well done, but that is the outstanding feature of the Ausie character in adversity. Hope everything goes well for your bounce back, which you will do. Cheers Keith
How ironic? I don't know the area particularly but yesterday's news carried a flood warning for Whittlesey in England. BBC NEWS | England | Cambridgeshire | County warned of possible floods
Victoria and South Australia are both on bush fire warning as heat soars to around 40 degree again. They are also expecting strong winds also which does not help. 200 odd schools are closed for to-day because of the danger. Death toll now 210 with 30 missing.
