Found in 1988,the pilot died in 1989. Never knew he's plane was found! He's helmet was found on the seat in the cock-pit. I have seen this video before, but my link won't work. I have to go and find another link
It is the one now being restored by Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection. However, the link below doesn't give much information and so further googling maybe required for the iarcraft's history: The Flying Heritage Collection
Ah, the forest 190. To be honest, that's the one I thought of but I placed it several years later. Ah well. From memory, even the BMW badge was still on the motor.
I don't know, I make one little comment about member's grammer and spelling and now everyone will be scanning my posts for typos :ballchain: well spotted Keith
Nice post, I allways find it interesting when old war birds are found esp in good condition. They are still finding all sorts of War planes with the remains of the airmen close by in many areas of the Pacific, and I'm sure their are many in the jungles of Burma/India and so on. Regards Cbr
Same here Cobber,i to find it amazing when old birds which are apart of fame history that are found years and years after! There is a Mossie aircraft found that crash on a training run in yearly 1945,which i can't get my hands on the links. All the links have been taken down, must be a copy right problem.
Do you have any further details of the Mossie, Heidi, such as where it was found etc? It sounds very interesting.
I think you were reading my mind,i am hunting for the mosquito thread right now,but unable to find it. I just have to look abit harder, and you're welcome.
