Yikes,age? Every one likes to let everyone know there age? I have heard last news report yesterday something to do with two British soldiers being killed in Ireland. I don't know or how or who!
Sympathy Hi Jerome, My feelings are very much the same as yours, the main difference is that they didn't have an agent stirring up public impression. When you consider the reason behind why and how she was pushed into the public eye, compared to the returning soldiers now being sent home in flag draped coffins and being, nearly, ignored, the world needs a lot of help. Don't know how to quote you too Keith but I agree with you both. I do feel very sorry for Jade's parents and her sons and wouldn't wish this upon anybody but the media (and the Prime Minister) have certainly lost all sense of proportion. Cynically I think that if every tragically sad serviceman's (or woman's) death or injury attracted similar publicity there would be a great deal more public pressure to extricate ourselves from Iraq and Afghanistan. I commend the people of Wootton Basset for at least honouring their return on our behalf.

The two soldiers you are refering to were murdered by Dissident IRA members a week or two ago in Northern Ireland. It has failed to deter the Peace Process and many of the original IRA/Sinn Fein members appear to be ready to hunt the killers down themselves. Just wait and see. And now for something completely different.... it's the Rant/Rave thread peeps. Take the discussions about news/politics/Jade Goody/etc to new threads in barracks.
RANT: had a Kookaburra sitting on one of the fence posts down the bottom of our property so I broke out the camera and headed out the door to try for a nice shot. Turned the camera on but only got the battery dead icon. Went looking for the charger and couldn't find the bloody thing!
