Cheers Annie, I only knew of him in passing as I'm a bit younger (I believe he was a prefect and a 6th former when I joined the school) but he was mentioned once or twice in assembly as I recall and for some reason I've always remembered him even though I never really knew him. Looks like he was killed on Two Sisters: ::Battle for Two Sisters::
I also have a friend who was in the Falklands War .... he came home .... but not the same young man who left .... God love him .... hwell: Heres the medal ...
Annie, I'm guessing its not a picture of the original one? All those that fought received a rose on the ribbon too. I think that one is for after June 14th when hostilities finished. More info here: South Atlantic Medal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Regards Andy
Apologies.....I thought it was date focused for the rosette but like the bar for the Iraq medal its location focused. Cheers Andy
I remember when Argentina invaded (I was a young lad of 30) and thought: Are they stupid? There is no way known that Maggie Thatcher will let them get away with that. They surely misread her if they thought she would just sit back and take it.
Sidge, sorry if i sound rude but......Angentinas invaded .....what? exactly!I was just getting interested in you're story and you forgot to mention what Angentina invaded.lol.peace.
