    Hello Annie,
For information on his service records I would advise a post on Mercantile Marine
The minimum info required would be a date and place of birth.
    Regards
    Hugh

I recently wrote a book dedicated to over 500 boys of the Merchant Navy killed in WWII age 16 and under including 15 boys age just 14. I was due to have it published this year, but I am now adding extra personal details on some of the individuals. Quite a number were from Liverpool.

"They Shall Grow Not Old..." is dedicated to over 500 boys age 16 and under who died in service with the Merchant Navy during WWII including fifteen boys age just 14 years old. The book is chronologically indexed by date of the losses from 1939-1946 on how these boys met their fate, detailing convoy, cargo, destination and cause of loss. Each month also records the official tonnage losses for Allied and neutral Merchant shipping and a monthly break down of the number of casualties throughout the war including DEMS gunners. There are 60 black & white photographs representing various types of ships sunk as well as 22 colour photographs of all the grave stones of those buried ashore throughout the world. A number of photographs of individuals have also been found and are incorporated into the ship photographs they were lost from.

If still interested contact me as the book is only available direct from the author.

To add a bit more to this story. On my profile, you will find a photo,it shows two of my Uncles, the smaller boy is Dougall, the older boy is Edward, now in his 90's. Their family home was 15, Moat Avenue, E,port. Dougall is the cabin boy in this thread, dying two days before his eighteenth birthday.thanks to Liverpool Annie for her help in piecing the story together. Now, we know.
