Wreck of the Prnz Eugen

    That would be an interesting dive! But, since the Prinz was used as part of the nuclear tests then I would have thought that both the water and the wreck itself would be radioactive?

    Morseman, diving in and around Bikini Atoll is big business particularly down to the USS Saratoga (marvellous survivor, should never have been used in the test IMHO) and her Helldivers and the Japanese battleships. I think it was only surveyed in the 70s and opened up to diving in the 80s. The original Bikinians from that time and their descendants, however, live elsewhere in the Marshalls and might return one day.

    I have a couple of t-shirts from Bikini Atoll Divers, not that I've been mind you, but how else do you get major WWII warships on a t-shirt?! LOL. I've got the Size Does Matter and the Nagato shirts.

    Summer 1946 In atom-bomb tests (Bikini Lagoon) slightly damaged but still afloat.


    wow that was one tuff ship but ya I wouldn't go and dive on that ship either after hearing that

    how deep is she, from what i read her bow sits in 65-feet-of water?
