Well done David. Was going to make it one of the 600s so people had more to look through :becky: Your go.
O.K. A little back ground first. There are four of us who's father were aircrew with 97 Squadron, myself, my sister Ruth, Ross Skingley and Jennie Gray. My mother calls us the "97 kids." Jennie has a web site devoted to 97 Squadron. 97 Squadron - The Pathfinder Year This summer we visited Bourn airfield where 97 Squadron operated from in 1943. There is not much left of the wartime airfield, one runway is still in use. One of the old hardstands is now home to the R.F.C. (Rural Flying Club) and in a hanger near there, Ross keeps his airplane. So, question is, what is the airplane myself Ruth and Ross are standing in front of?
Far out, that's pretty cool. Kinda looks like a cross between an overgrown Spitfire (wings) and a Meatbox! LOL. Seems to be quite DH-ish to me.
Aaaarrrgggh Morse! I was so sure you'd got it I didn't pay too close attention :frusty:. The top picture does look like the pressurised Wellington It's a Vickers 432 high altitude fighter!
