    Title:

Força Aérea Brasileira (Brazilian Air Force)
    Brief History:

The first flying school was established in 1914 by the Brazilian Army but was closed some months later. In 1918 the Army Air Service was again established and got some new aircraft, when a French military mission came into being in 1920. During the Civil War in 1932 the Arma de Aviacao (Army Air Service) had to fight against a rebel air force and during 1935 to suppress a communist-led revolution. In 1941 the Army and Naval air services merged and formed the Forca Aerea Brasileira (Brazilian Air Force). During World War Two a Brazilian fighter group fought with the Allied Forces in Italy. The FAB received large quantities of equipment through the Lend-Lease programm. After World War Two the FAB was downsized and consisted at the beginning of the 1980s of five higher commands. At the beginning of the 1990s the FAB was reorganised and consists now of three general commands.

    Good link Kyt.

I thought this was the best way to present these "Air Forces" with a relatively similar pattern and receive other posts or better links that then expand the thread.
