    Hi all,

Been back from Malta a while so thought i should post some piccies.

The trip was great fun with a reenacting event in the middle to help break up the touristy stuff.
We visited the aviation museum, i enjoyed it but the place needs a large cash injection to really get going.

Sadly the War museum and operations rooms were closed, two places i wanted to visit.

We ate lots of rabbit and drank lots of chisk.

Anyway, some pictures here but i have many more to process...

    Hello Andy,

Glad you have enjoyed your visit to Malta. No comments on the War Museum and Operations rooms (How they pretend to get funds if they are closed? - Always with the excuse of being Restored, like many other places in Malta.)

But anyway, this may helped to see your return to our Island in the very
    near future.

    Best Regards,

    Vincent Borg.

    Hi Vincent,

Yes, we enjoyed it a very much. My wife and I now think we would like to visit again on our own. We had a good time with the group but it can be awkward to get away on your own to see things.

I understand the ops rooms have been purchased by a private owner (who i met in Valletta), and is being refurbished. I believe he also owns the shelters we visited and Fort Rinella. Seems some empire building is happening on your fair island.

What struck me most is how proud the Maltese are of their history, rightly so!
Also, when we walked around in ww2 uniform people were genuinly interested in what we were doing, and very freindly too. In the UK i wouldn't dream of walking around in public like that.

We sat in a cafe near the Cathedral in valletta after the shelter/rinella tour and so we were in KD uniform. The amount of people who came over to chat and take pictures was fantastic. The older generation amazing, telling us stories of their memories. Despite how hard it must have been during the siege some of those people claimed they were the good years!
