Mepal and the 75 Squadron

    Hi to all
    I am new to this forum and i am looking into the History of the Airfield that was at Mepal in Cambridgeshire UK
    home to the NZ 75 Squadron.I am looking for history pictures and stories from families of the service men that served at Mepal.if you have family History please respond the information gathered will be used to set up a display that can be shown locally to preserve the memory of the service men and women that served at Mepal

    Hi Phil,

    Welcome to the forum. I see your getting involved straight away which is great. Do you have a list of the men and women who were killed while serving at Mepal? I could probably give you a full list of the planes that were lost and the names onboard them given a little time.

Bernard McClintock (bomb aimer R.A.A.F.) Muswellbrook, NSW, Australia. Frank Mathewman (R.A.F) Rotherham, Yorkshire. Tommy Farrow (rear gunner, R.A.F.) Oldham, Lancashire. And ground crew of AAA Lancaster.

    Did either of the planes crash, if so could you give me the dates please.
