Hi wonder if any one could help, I have just discovered my Wife's Great Grandfather was awarded the military cross in WW1 and that he was young recipiency his name was Denis R Kearns and he was in the Royal Marine Light Infantry, we know that he was the youngest POW of ww1 and was made to sweep the streets of Berlin, and it is mentioned in the Guinness book of records.
But how can I find out how he won the M C.

    Thanks

    Keith

    Hi
Just to say ancestry.co.uk got it wrong on the transcript translation and my wife's great grandfather did not get the MC.

you can still find out what he was up to! There are researchers on e-bay who can get copies of his MIC and military history as long as they were not destroyed in the second WW. Steve Burke(medals999) is my recommendation, very helpful and very reasonable prices.
