That Mein Kampf was ghost-written by Jesuit priest ? I've never heard that before ..... or is that just one of those myths that have been around a long time ?
The claim is that it was written by Staempfle. But its verasity is in doubt because the first mention was made by Otto Strasser in Hitler and I, which was published after he escaped from Germany. The fact that he had become an opponent of Hitler and was being used by the Allies for propaganda means that any claims he made have to be taken with a very large pinch of salt.
You beat me to it K ! ... but thank you ! ... I was finding it hard to believe but then I started researching and found nearly the same as you !!
Did not Hitler write the book while he was inprisoned early 1923? How could Hitler get the hold of Father Staempl book in the first place,if Staempl has allready written it? Mein Kampf was writen on Hitler's own account?
I had not heard that this book might have been writtten by someone other than Hitler. Was this book commissioned by Hitler? Meaning did he pay Father Staempl to write it perhaps? Or is this merely heresay?
No one really knows how the writing was done or who exactly wrote what in what time period. It is fairly common knowledge that Hitler probably wasn't the writer. Haven't dug into this too deep as the information circulating around is fairly mixed.
I thought that Hitler wrote the book during his jail term. If so, wouldn't there have been a lot of witnesses who saw him writing it? He was jailed along with a lot of his cronies, and I have always heard that there were planey of eyewitness accounts of his spending the time writing "Mein Kampf."
