As a stamp collector, I often find postal history items sent long ago. Where possible, I trace known decedents and reunite them with a piece of their family history. I do it as a hobby and never charge them for it.

Currently, I have an old photograph of a soldier with his family. I think Kings Rifles about 1890
A museum is doing the legwork for me on that one as I have a photo, but no name. But an officer

Also and old envelope sent my a then Captain to his family. saw it on ebay and trying to buy that.
Later, he was to become a Lieutenant Colonel. Waiting to see if I can get the piece.

I found his page on this site, so immediately decided to sign up.

No military history myself. Was living in the wrong country. My dad, yes, but that lasted till his court marshal (he is listed on the wiki page of cold war deserters - but FROM NATO, not TO it :) LOL. long story... (there is a book about that)
