    458 squadron Mk VIII Wellingtons. Carried 2 x 2,000lb torpedoes.
    I was in the squadron in 1943 in the North African desert. Initially called as part of Eighth Army Strategic Air Force, later as NACAF (North Africa Coastal Air Force). Engaged against Italian Navy after the African campaign but they wouldn't come out and play. After Italy I was posted to 179 squadron in Gibraltar for anti-sub action using Leigh Light.
