Reconstruction Resources

I feel woefully inept and ignorant regarding Reconstruction, but I would like to remedy that. Any suggestions on some reading material? Fiction and Non-Fiction, it does not matter.

 

Do you have any particular story in mind? Or you just want to read general books on fiction and non-fiction which relates to war/military etc.?

 

I guess a general resource at first, like I said I don't have much experience with the subject.
