Whilst looking around I found a Roll Of Honour for aircrew lost in the Warsaw Uprising Airlift (including 178 Squadron): http://www.polonia.co.za/WarsawFlights/Roll04.htm
Would 160 squadron have some info? "178 Squadron formed January 1943 from a detachment of 160 Squadron and began bombing operations with Liberators. In March the squadron moved to Libya to attack targets in North Africa, Italy and the Balkans and carried out supply-dropping flights to partisans in northern Italy and Poland. In March 1944, 178 Squadron moved to Italy where it remained for the rest of the war. In addition to Liberators, Halifaxes were used between May and September 1943, and on returning to Egypt in November 1945, the squadron converted to Lancasters"
