I am interested in the London staff correspondent of Sydney Morning Herald, Mr AWV King, who followed a Lanchaster on a raid to Berlin 2. December 1943. Does anyone know his full name, maybe his age at the time, and best of all, a short biography or something? G
Have you contacted the SMH? They should have archives and the like from Mr AWV King's stories which then should lead to his full name and so on, then the information hopefully should flow. If he was a "Australian "War Correspondent" rather than being a SMH reporter based in England then he would of been a registered war corespondent so www.awm.gov.au/ could help in your search. He could be or probably is in the British war Correspondent archives as well, as he was obviously based their during war. Good luck
Try the Sqn Assns maybe they will have something: 467-463 Lancaster Squadrons Association Secretary: J Skeet, 22c Belgravia Rd, Onchan, Douglas, IM3 1HH, Isle of Man: tel 01624 614389: [BCA 4/01 updated] site 467/463 RAF/RAAF WORLD WAR TWO BOMBER SQUADRONS,Lancasters,bombers,sorties,missions,WW2,Waddington,war,memorial 467/463 (RAAF) Squadron Association J Quinn, 9 Redcourt Road, Attadale 6156 Western Australia
