Aime Giral was a player of the U.S. Perpignan fell - like so many others during the First World War. Born - 8th August 1895 Died - 22nd July 1915 Stade Aime Giral is a multi-use stadium in Perpignan, France. It is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and is the home stadium of USA Perpignan. The stadium also currently hosts the majority of Catalan Dragons home matches. The stadium is able to hold 13,500 people,around 17,500 since 2008. The stadium has the name of the captain Aime Giral, who died during the First World War. Seven players of USA Perpignan died during this war. The club was established in 1902 as AS Perpignan. It would be in 1914 that the club would go on to make its first ever final appearance. On May 3, Perpignan players defeated Stadoceste Tarbais eight points to seven at Stade des Ponts Jumeaux in Toulouse in front of 15,000 people. Several of these champions were killed some months later in World War I and, to honour their sacrifice, it was decided to colour USAP jersey like a Poilu uniform. Four years after the championship in 1914, the club was renamed as US Perpignan
