...has arrived. Many of you know I am searching for work. And I have finally seen it all. An advert for a hotel receptionist in a near by town (BTW I am going for it just for a laugh) but the advert is misspelt, AND IN TXT SPK! :fear: Here is the blurb just to let you know. And that is a direct copy and paste from the government job site.
That is truly abysmal. It appears clear who they're targetting but, in doing so, they don't come across professionally by any measure.
It makes me think of Hotel Babylon (for those of you not from the UK, this was a TV serial; the title says it all) Note the "not a clock watcher" bit - they may be wacky, surreal, and broadminded but they will still expect you to be there 25 hours a day, and come in on your days off, and if your face doesn't fit you'll be out on your ear before you can say Fawlty Towers.
I never thought I would really be "Disgusted from Tunbridge Wells" but I HATE to see language misused and abused like this!
I checked the website for the hotel, it does get worse, believe me. In fact as I have decided against going for this job due to travel costs, I'll let you decide for yourself. Buckingham Hotel
I have to admit ... it is a beautiful looking place in a lovely part of England ... but ..... I don't understand how they think they'll draw guests in with that website .... wonder who owns it ? ... probably young socialists or the kids of Rock stars playing with Daddy's money ..... sounds like sex drugs and Rock 'n' Roll when you stay there !! Not for the "faint hearted " thats for sure !!
I know which hotel it is as I went to uni in Buxton. Believe me its not what the website states. its a little hotel down a side road by the Pavillion Gardens. And I recall a fellow student worked there. They were not relaxed about anything, in fact used threats and blackmail.
