The Australian National Football team the Socceroos have qualified for the 2010 world cup in South Africa. It is only the third time in our history and second time in a row that Australia has qualified. Four years ago they got in on penalties, this year the forwards were firing and they finished first in their group followed by Japan. In Germany we got into last 8 i believe, but lost after a silly decision by the Ref allowing Italy to finally score a extra goal and win. If they can get into the last 8 and then some how get into the last 4 would be a miracle. I suppose it will come down to who they are drawn against, last time Aussies had a favourable draw through out tournament.
Good luck to the Aussies - will be more interesting to watch than the embarressment of the recent England teams
We met the Brazilians in the previous World Cup so hopefully we can avoid them for a bit longer this time! Not looking forward to the late nights and being unable to sleep like last time.
