A great programme with Black American soldiers recalling their time in Australia during the war: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UPdu0ufDu8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbqhDDiyQYk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KHMFOe16OI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW62TlSc2qc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMlRNezaGDI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc2kG0YV4to ..
First time I had seen those. I had heard of the terrible way the Negroes were treated by their own countrymen. (Officers, MP's etc) The white Australia policy was strict at a government level however I had read that the Aussies were taken aback at the way they were treated. We as a nation behaved badly towards our own Aboriginals and it will always be a slight on that part of our history. While having said that (which I have said before), we all have our skeletons!
