Battle of Jutland Memoir Below is Chapter 14 from "Through the Hawse Pipe" which are the unpublished memoirs of Captain Alexander Grant CBE DSC. He was gunner on HMS Lion during the Battle of Jutland and the chapter is of interest both for his comments on what happened on Lion during the battle but also for some interesting comment on the safety procedures for cordite on HMS Lion.
