    Dai Westacott won his only cap against Ireland in 1906.

    A private in the Gloucestershire Regiment, he was killed in action in France on 28 August,1917, aged 35.

    Westacott, David played for Wales

    Internationals: 1: 1906 I-

    David Westacott was born in 1882.

    Played as a Forward for: Grange National School, Cardiff

    War service: 15529, Private, 16th Platoon, D Company, 2/6th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment, 144th Brigade, 61st (2nd South Midland) Division.

    On 27 August, in knee deep mud, two other units of the 144th Brigade attacked and held German positions trenches and a concrete bunker at Springfield Farm. He was killed in action on 28 August 1917, near Ypres, and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, West Vlaanderen, Belgium [Panel 72 to 75].
