    Can anybody tell me anything about these two brothers please ?

    who died age 31
    on 16 October 1917
    Son of Maj. W. de Courcy Stretton (R.A., retired), of Little Close, Salcombe, Devon and Beata Caroline Stretton ; husband of Mary Stretton (formerly Shaw), of Whitehall, Buxton. His brother John de Courcy Stretton also fell.

    Second Lieutenant JOHN DE COURCY STRETTON

    3rd Bn. attd. 1st Bn., Royal Warwickshire Regiment
    who died age 27
    on 11 May 1918
    Son of Maj. William de C. Stretton (late Royal Attillery), and Mrs. Caroline Beata Stretton, of Park Hill House, Paignton, Devon. Born at Salcombe, Devon. His brother Alexander Lynham de Courcy Stretton also fell.

    Both boys come from a long line of military family ...

    And their father seems to have been talented in other ways too !!

    "Follow the Colours" is a song written by the English composer Edward Elgar, with words by Capt. William de Courcy Stretton. The song is for male voice solo with an optional chorus of male voices.
