Gareth Gardiner, Ernest Robert played for England Internationals: 10 : 1921 W+ I+ S+ (1t) ; 1922 W- I+ (1t) F= ; 1923 W+ I+ S+ F+ Ernest Gardiner was born on 6 October 1886 (perhaps in Wales) Played as a Hooker for: Devonport Services, Royal Navy, Devon Profession: Royal Marines War service: Royal Marine Light Infantry Remarks: Some sources credit his try v Scotland in 1921 to R Edwards. He died on 26 January 1954

Annie The two basic references are The Book of International Rugby Records, which has 'Gardner' and The Complete Who's Who of International Rugby, which has 'Gardiner'. The Centenary history of the RFC has 'Gardner' so I'll change my records to go with the majority. Gareth
