    In Memory of
    Flight Lieutenant ANTHONY JOHN RIPPON
    D F C

    who died
    on 25 August 1944

    Remembered with honour

Is there a reason why Anthony doesn't have a CWGC headstone ? ...... does anybody know anything more about him ?

I've done a quick search on this but no luck on F/L Rippon.
107 sqdn operated the Mosquito FBVI at the time; and they were then a part of 2TAF, not Bomber Command, so he doesn't appear on the "Lost Bombers" site.

Could it be simply that no body was found, but the townspeople and/or family erected a memorial to him?

Thank you CXX ...... I found this on a French site earlier ..... it looks like the right one - according to your post ! ..... I appreciate your help ! :)

I was surprised to see Barry Cuttells name at the bottom .... he takes great headstone pictures and usually gives great details too !

Annie, this has been annoying for a while as I know I've got something on 107 Sqn from around this time ... but do you think I can find it?! Now, if it were 105 Sqn or 464...

Ah well, so much to do.
