    Unfortunate choice of title though:

    Err, no it wasn't - the name has usually, and erroneously, been attributed to the Beau being called that by the Japanese, but in fact was a propaganda name created by a RAF man who claimed that this is what the Japanese called it.

    But the book looks very interesting - there is a mention of Heide in The Armed Rovers (which is an overall history of the Beaus in the Med). Damn, another book on the list. Cheers Andy. People can have a look inside the book on Amazon:

    Not peace but a Sword arrived by surface mail while I was away. Hanging out for it as I managed to finally get Gibbs' Torpedo Leader a couple of months ago but not going to read it until I read 'Sword.

    Armed Rovers should be turning up soon too! Scored it for US$3 plus $12.95 postage. Less than $20 in my money so happy with that!
