The Royal Navy is to mark 100 years of aviation with a spectacular flypast over HMS Illustrious in London.
A formation of 40 aircraft, led by Merlin attack helicopters, will pass directly over the strike carrier.
Sea Kings, Lynx, Hawks and Jetstreams will be among the aircraft celebrating the centenary, over the Thames near the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.
The Duke of York, who is commodore-in-chief, will meet veterans of World War II, the Falklands War and Afghanistan.

Ridiculous that there's no Sea Harriers. Cost-cutting makes a lot of sense.

Oh indeed, Annie, legendary. Just ruminating about the decline of the FAA.
