    Spain's most powerful judge has begun an unprecedented investigation into atrocities committed during and after the country's Civil War in the 1930s. Baltasar Garzon will consider whether the dictator, General Franco, orchestrated a "crime against humanity" - by ordering the deaths of tens of thousand of left-wing opponents. Victims' relatives hope the judicial investigation could lead to prosecutions. Steve Kingstone reports.
