Played as a Wing/centre for: Racing Club de France Profession: Engineer War service: Soldat 1ère Classe,346ème Regiment d’Infanterie He was killed in action on 22, 23 or 24 September 1914 at Stenay/Lerouville
A little bit different than yours but nearly the same ! Gaston Lane born 31 January 1883 in Paris and died on 23 September 1914 Lironville Having served three-quarters right wing (and center) to Racing club de France and national team (he also played for AS Bois-Colombes in its infancy, then at the Cosmopolitan Club of Paris). He was the 1st international French to exceed the 10 selections, with Marcel Joint. Merchant by trade, he was killed along the Moselle at the beginnings of the First World War. He was also an excellent football player and occasional reporter for Sporting.
