Gareth Lamond, George A W played for Scotland Internationals: 3 : 1899 W+ (1d) E+ ; 1905 E+ George Lamond was born in 1878 Played as a Centre for: Kelvinside Academy, Kelvinside Academicals, Royal Engineers Profession: Civil engineer Remarks: Six years between caps. He was decorated with the Orders of Medjidieh and Osmanieh by the Governments of Egypt and Turkey. Employed in the construction of the King Edward Dock, Avonmouth. War service: Lieutenant Colonel, Inland Water Transport, Royal Engineers. He died on active service in Columbo, Ceylon on 25 February 1918 and is buried in Columbo (Kanatte) General Cemetery, Sri Lanka [Grave Pres. V. CC. 21.].
