My name is my username. I'm mid-30s, married, with lots of kids. I'm from and living in San Antonio; my interest in military history is mostly a function of having grown up here. I was actually born on Fort Sam Houston, which has a rich history all its own. My parents were both Army (at different times); I had one grandfather in the Air Force and another in the merchant marines. My ex was in the Navy (we were stationed in Groton, CT; Norfolk, VA; & Honolulu, HI). There are myriad other military connections in my immediate and barely-extended family as well. I am interested in history in general, but military history in particular, as, well, it is history. I enjoy tracing connections from military advancements/innovations to civilian ones.
