Hello to all! Just signed up today after a strange and delusional talk on another website about WW2. I was always interested in WW1 and 2 and was amazed to find that there was actually a forum on this topic...this is great now I can find out more.
G'day and welcome, mate. Hope you enjoy it here, we're a friendly bunch. Feel free to introduce yourself in the Introductions forum. We'd be keen to hear about this strange and delusional talk you had! Plenty to read and learn here. I think it's fair to say we all learn something new every day.
This site has some real good information! Nice...O about the other site, well It sure seems that way to me I could be wrong. The OP (original poster) wants to defaecate on some dead german soldiers remains he found and the thread took off from there. He wasn't even born nor his parents yet, well maybe his parents. wow is all I can say on everyones history knowledge there. I just think they are taking parts of history and bending it to their eyes. I really would not desecrate anyone's remains german or otherwise and think that's just wrong. That war has been over with for over 60 years now and both side fought a hard, cruel, bloody war for what they believed. Yes I understand what hitler did (and that was just atrocious) but not all german soldiers new that was going on. Glad the allies won. I did not believe I was getting straight/complete answers from the guy. So I started to just post random nonsense there in hopes he would just shut up. Like the Vampieric German Army planted through out Europe waiting to rise again.
If he is still ranting please remind him that when France was overrun and the Germans took control of the areas where the WW1 cemeteries were they respected them, even allowing the British gardeners to stay in order to tend them. When some German soldiers were then seen to be urinating up the Menin gate, their officer took them to the nearest wall and had them shot for desecration.
Welcome P-51. Here, we won't forget the crimes but we do regard all war dead and veterans to be deserving of equal respect. The desecration of war graves and memorials is probably considered one of the most despicable acts by members here, and on most serious military forums. Nice to see that you hold the same sentiments. Again welcome.
Thanks for the welcome all!....My favourite also of that war. Na no personal conections to the aircraft but I do drive a Mustang, lol
Greetings P-51, from Denver CO. I'm a new member myself and have found it to be a very helpful group. By the way I am originally from the UK where I spent my schooldays in wartime Wales. Now retired and enjoying 330 days a year of sunshine in Denver.
