Obviously, I am new to the forum. As my name says, I am a Gulf War Veteran having served on-board the USS Wisconsin (BB-64), an Iowa class battleship. Not as popular as her sister the "Mighty Mo" but just as magnificent and beautiful. I am a 60% disabled having sustained an injury during my time over seas of which I have been living with for the last 22 years.
Welcome aboard! Wow, the Wisconsin, you're one of the last to have ever served on a battleship then. I think it was just the Wisconsin and the Missouri that served in Desert Storm, and shortly after that they both were decommissioned. The Wisconsin is still among us though, serving as a museum ship in Norfolk.
That is correct Peter, both served in Desert Storm. The Mighty Mo relieved the Whisky Punch after both fired a ton of shells into Kuwait. The Wisconsin is currently docked in Norfolk at Nauticus.
