Hi everyone. I'm Andy. My interest in WWII began upon hearing the story of my Great Uncle's part in the war. He was an interrogation officer in the European Theater and was fluent in 7 languages, including English (of course), French, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, and Dutch; he was 2nd in command of his unit. He met his wife by pulling her into his foxhole during the bombing of her village in the Korean "conflict", sent her home, and married her. While I cannot lay such a claim myself (7 languages), his stories inspired me to take 2 years of German in high school, and we would talk that way on the phone (he lived in WA and I'm in MN). I've taken a few specialized classes in WWII history and have, as well as hunt for WWII era throwbacks. I will try to post a few pics. What is the max number of pics you can upload to one post? Here is a nice pic to start off with. Enjoy!
Welcome to the forum Andy. By "lived" I assume you mean he is no longer with us. Let me start off with saying both my thanks for his service and my sympathy for his death. I don't know much about history so that's what attracted me to this forum. A chance to learn something new about the world. Welcome to the forums. Nice photo!
