If my previous thread is too be believed I was after some 2/3 machinegun patches which I found thank you very much everyone that helped. I am looking for the contact details of the Friends and Family of the 2/3 Machinegun Perth WA. I found a letter written by my father Keith Flanagan OAM. Which is is Dated 12 of August 1941 D Coy. 2/3 M.G.B AIF ABROAD It reads Dear Dad, I received another of your letters four days ago. I wrote to you in my last letter about Nevile Rose but Sam told me it had been censored as the casualty was not a month old. The time has elapsed now.Neviles crowd had a tough job as I suppose you have seen by the casualty lists. Nevile was wounded early but was able to walk back to the RAP.-The road was supposed to have been cleared. A hand grenade came over from a machinegun position,Cec O'Longhlam in his first big stunt as Sergeants and John Dixon got it together, Neil will know them, they are 10LH boys. I saw Neviles grave after the armice. We know and all I really know is about the 2/3 on the Railway etc as prisoners but I would really like too hear some first hand accounts of Syria etc Dad told me about fighting there but I heard more from other guys on his Quiet Lion tours.
