Keith, what Hillman was the conversion based on? I know very little about vehicles and cannot find a match

Ooh, looks like a Fordson Thames facing the camera, possibly an ET6 or military version thereof, and the truck behind the Land Rover is a Bedford RL (4WD).

My first thought re the ID of that truck is Commer but, if so, it's certainly one I haven't seen before (similar to some 1950s models but looks "odd").

    Hi Andy,
I have just seen on t.v. ( Foyles War) a Humber 4 X 4 staff car, very similar to the one I was allocated for escort duties whilst in the BTA.
Mr driver was quite a character, Ernst Trixell, a local sking champion.
Other vehicles I was priviledged to drive about in were a Captured VW,
a Captured BMW type 375, a Ford 4 X 4 staff car Humber Pulman staff car,
together with quite an assortment of PSV's Autin, Ford, Hillman.
    The period was 1950 - 53.
If you have any pictures of these types I would be grateful
    Cheers
    Keith
