HMS Whimbrel

For several years a quiet campaign has been ongoing in Liverpool to bring home the last surviving veteran ship of the Atlantic campaign. HMS Whimbrel, a Black Swan class Sloop, was also present at the surrender of the Japanese in Tokyo Bay.

Amazing that she's survived exactly the same as she was during the war. Hope the project succeeds.

 

Well they only need £2million to bring her back, and as it was on the regional news then there is a good chance of this. i think the plan is to sail her back by the end of next year. Then the real fund raising will begin.

 

Good to see the Egyptians are open to the idea.
