Sometimes I get material that I wish to share with you but don't know how to put in the gallery or the video room.

An example is the link following which is of U2's making deck landings.

Creative Fission - U2 Carrier Landing

Not WW2 related but of interest to some of our members I'm sure.

Let me know moderators if this is a good idea.

David, there's no problem with linking video clips etc from other sites.

Just needs a new thread, a bit of blurb about what it is and placed in an appropriate section.

Just a note of thread titles for everyone. Could members please make the titles clear about the subject. Occassionally a title appears that doesn't actually state what the subject is. That's fine when it foirst appears as we tend to read most threads on the front page, but it does make searching for them at a later date that much more difficult.

I get a lot of stuff that unfortunatly I cannot figure out how to put here. Like the 1942 pictures I sent you.

U2s landing on carriers? Wow. Did they remove the island first or make the aircraft's wings detachable?! LOL, off to the video I go...

EDIT: the most amazing footage I've seen for a while. Thanks DL. Good to see the Ranger making herself available for the tests. The U2 must have been interesting to handle on the deck. Did you see the "props" they used for the wings for the catapult shot?

We do not allow pps (PowerPoint) attachments because (a) a lot people have problems openeing them, and (b) a pps file tends to be very big.

I recently found a site where you can upload and share slide shows for free (like photobucket for photos). It seems pretty good, and it worked for me:

    Thanks Kyt,

I get a lot of PowerPoints sent to me, but I'm aware that they're not the most universal form of images.

    Cheers
