Unfortunate to be wounded in this way, however I will say that it's better than being killed by a dead man. I would imagine that these sorts of things happened from time to time over the 6 years of fighting in all of WW2. Men who are hit while in the act of pulling the trigger on their own weapon. Almost anything can and will happen in warfare.
Drawing their guns up, they yelled "Jump Tony!" As the platoon commander dived for cover, they opened fire and killed the two Germans. As one fell, his finger still on the trigger, he sprayed fire back, hitting Lance Sgt Rayner through the right arm. Cheers GW
Thanks G/W. Fancy that,being shot by a dead german soldier,it must have been all thee preesure from thee bullets that caused the german muscle in his hands to squise thee trigger.
