Tamu, Burma March 1944, 6 x M3 Lee's of the 3rd Carabiniers engaged 6 x Japanese tanks, destroying 5 and capturing the other. I'm not sure this counts though as technically Burma is in the Indian Ocean. Although the Burma Campaign does generally get included as part of the Pacific war. It may not be the greatest tank battle of the Pacific war, but was the biggest tank battle between Japan and the UK. I would however put money on this being the correct answer
