Searching for information about the, "Inland Sorting Depot" situated at Dale Lane, Kirkby (area also known as Simonswood) during WW2. It was operated by American servicemen whose task it was to sort military items of war, after they were unloaded from convoy ships at Liverpool Docks. The Royal Ordnance Factory was situated near to this depot. Any help please would assist in compiling a history of this important location.

Do you know if the site is still extant? I know a few people who may go and check it out for you if needs be.
