Hello all. I'm curious; would anyone care to share their favorite Italian Campaign Films? There have been a number of good ones made over the decades.

A couple I've enjoyed are A Walk in the Sun and Von Ryan's Express.

    Thanks all.

Gung Ho, a film about the Niesi soldiers in US Army.

Up Front, a film of American soldiers in Italy, based on book by Bill Mauldin.

Thank you for the recommendations. I do actually remember seeing Gungo Ho some years back. As best as I can recall, I haven't seen Up Front, so I am going to track down a copy.

    Thanks again, Interrogator. :)

Anzio (1968) with Robert Mitchum is the only film on the Italian Campaign that I can recall.

You cannot overlook "The Battle of San Pietro" directed by John Huston. Only 32 minutes and a documentary rather than "Hollywood" but essential viewing.

There are, of course, elements of "Patton" but that's not a whole film.

Thanks for the heads up. I found the video and thought I'd pass it along for others to view.
