Italy debates recognition of veterans

    Tis a tricky one this. Unlike Germany, Italy's war record is not seen so negatively by the world. Often seen as bumbling and not really fighters, pre-1943 Italians still fought in the Axis against the Allies, and were still part of Mussolini's fascist regime. And many Italian units were good and fought well and bravely.

    So, should they be recognised? And how exactly? On an equal to the anti-fascist fighters?
