Do you know this soldier Gareth ?

Jean Bouin gave his name to several stages in France. The French stage CASG pays tribute to the man who was a member of the club (athletics section) in the colors which he won many titles. This athlete was very popular in the early 20 th century, he died at the front in 1914.

PARIS - Stade Jean Bouin - 12,000 seats

( theres a couple of Jean Bouins in the casualties .... one born 1891 and the other 1895 )

He's new name to me, but I've only researched the men who played Rugby at international level. The French are the most difficult to research, perhaps because their names weren't always accurately recorded in English language programs and other documents at the time.
